Finished Basement Before (Unfinished)
This unfinished basement was full of potential. The goal was to transform the space into a functional extension of the home, including a new bedroom, bathroom, and a comfortable rec room for movie nights and everyday family use.
Finished Basement After
This basement was designed to feel warm, inviting, and slightly masculine while still being highly functional for everyday living. A wood-look vinyl plank flooring adds warmth throughout, while the dark textured tile fireplace creates a strong focal point.
To keep the space feeling clean and intentional, the TV is blended into the tile surround so it doesn’t dominate the room when not in use. An electric fireplace with colour-changing lighting adds both ambiance and flexibility.
Floating shelves on either side, painted to match the tile, enhance the focal wall without adding visual clutter.
In the bathroom, a long linear vanity maximizes storage and functionality, while a backlit niche above adds both lighting and interest. A warm wood vanity paired with leathered quartz countertops brings in texture and ties the overall design together.
